Comments: With your experience, could you tell me which "organization" is the best to join? I'm in the process of looking at which organization to affiliate with.

Thanks

Hello Brenda,

thank you for contacting me. Regarding your question, the best answer would be it depends on what you want
and where you are located. Most doctors in certain statesor regions (understandably) are more ready to hire what they know. Check the want ads and ask other MA's. If you wantto work in your local hospital find out what they want.

If the
newspaper ads are filled with wanted ads for CMA then
that's what you want, if there are more adds for RMA,
that's what you want. And remember, there also is theNational Healthcareer Association (NHA) which also is agreat organization offering the CCMA and CMAA.

And if you want to cover all angles, then just sit for
several exams and join as many organizations that you can(afford!) It's as simple as that.
One simple (and free) way to start is to go to my web siteat http://www.certmedassistant.com and fill out the Infor-mation request form from both the NHA and AMT. It would bea start! Oh, and don't forget to tell all your colleaguesabout my web site!

I hope this helped.
